This is really sweet. I have some friends who have recently become Anglican and I would love the chance to explore this tradition. Much of my story mirrors yours and I wonder if I could be drawn long term to Anglicanism…
I became a Presbyterian for similar reasons. A lot of Evangelicalism has moved far away from the reformers' vision of renewing the one, holy, catholic, and apostolic church. Thanks for sharing!
I enjoyed this entire piece, and resonate deeply with your story, but I'll tell you what link I clicked on first: "this creepy but awesome podcast..." I lol'd. Can't wait to listen 💀
Hi Hannah, fellow Anglican priest here! I love your trilogy idea and look forward to your next post on why you’re a priest. I think I’d like to write something similar—why am I an Anglican and a priest—even as a cool thought experiment for myself, if you don’t mind me borrowing this idea. Also, I feel it so strange as Anglicans that we have to define ourselves so often as not being RC or EO. Our tradition can stand on its own I think. Not a criticism of you, just something I’m noticed while being an Anglican in online spaces.
I just ordered your book and I'm so excited to read it, Hannah! I'm a "newbie" Anglican and it took me a long time to find my way here. The way the Eucharist is celebrated in the service, and the Common Book of Prayer draw me closer to my heavenly Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Thank you for your articles.
I love this, Hannah. Your story inspires me to look back on my journey and see the mysterious and marvelous movement of God through the years in my heart and my theology. ONWARD!
I enjoy your articles and posts on X Hannah. I imagine it must be hard to exist in the ACNA as a woman priest at this time when it seems the ACNA is publishing 2 essays a week calling for womens ordination to be ended.
Honestly in real life people are mostly very charitable and collegial. The internet paints a bit of a false picture. But sometimes the trolling does get to me. Thanks for your kindness.
Hannah, I think this along with your book, explains why a lot of us chose ACNA in our journeys.
Thank you so much for this. I feel so much the same.
I’m so glad it resonates!
The Via Media! It just works.

this sentence "I personally feel that the Anglican Church affords me the greatest unity with Christians on both sides of the Reformation". <3
Love this—I relate to SO MUCH of this. ❤️🔥
I’m so glad!
